Confession…
I was that odd child who CHOSE the oatmeal raisin cookie at the bakery. There was something about the texture of the chewy oatmeal cookie and the sweet raisins that I loved. Don’t get me wrong, I also loved the chocolate chip cookies, but I was never the child who balked at finding a raisin rather than a chocolate chip in my cookie. All this to say that crafting an oatmeal cookie energy ball recipe was definitely the solution to reminiscing on the good ol’ days!
I am personally a fan of oatmeal raisin cookies, but for all y’all out there who have been traumatized by thinking they were chocolate chips when they were in fact raisins, I’ve got a solution for you as well. It’s as simple as this… swap the raisins for chocolate chips. Voila. See, these oatmeal cookie energy balls have the power to make anyone smile 🙂
Energy Balls Are Always the Answer
If you know anything about me, you know that energy balls are deeply rooted in my DNA. I am willing to turn any tasty dessert into a healthy energy ball recipe and these oatmeal cookie energy balls were no exception! They are so darn clean that they could easily be enjoyed for breakfast while allowing you to reminisce on childhood memories of warm cookies from the oven.
Here’s an idea… what if you repaid your momma with some oatmeal cookie energy balls for all the oatmeal cookies she made for you in your childhood. The easiest way to make someone smile is to make food for them. Ok, maybe paying someone a compliment is easier. But these balls are pretty. darn. simple so grab your oatmeal and your raisins (or chocolate chips)… it’s energy ball making time!

For everyone out there who wasn't traumatized as a child by finding a raisin in their cookie rather than a chocolate chip, this one's for you 😉
